eBuckle by Holmbergs™ complies to RED and CB+CE safety directives (among others).

· Red light
When the buckle is closed, the tightening check begins.

· Red blinking light & sound
If tightening hasn’t been done, or if the harness isn’t tight, the reminder will to alert you that you have to tighten more. The alarm starts 10 seconds after the buckle is closed.

· Green blinking light
When tightening has reached defined level, eBuckle by Holmbergs™ will check for 5 seconds that the tension stays the same. If not, it will go back to reminding you to tighten (red light blinking and sound).

· Green light & sound
If tension stays at defined level there will be a green light and sound to confirm that tightening has been done. The green light will turn off after 5 seconds and the buckle will stop measure the tension.

If you have the app, you can also have a notification/reminder in the app.

We cannot guarantee a perfect tightened harness, as the tightening of the harness straps may vary depending on circumstances, for example the use of different inlays, height adjustments, friction or the child’s clothing. Always ensure that the harness is adjusted correctly for the child’s safety. The Tightening Support™ cannot replace the correct tightening or monitoring of the harness by an adult. Holmbergs cannot be held liable for damage to persons and things, of any nature, arising in connection with the use of the Tightening Support™.

You need the buckle with Bluetooth connectivity to be able to use the Abandon Alert™ feature, and to connect to the phone and send notifications.

The alarm is triggered when the eBuckle by Holmbergs™ is buckled and connected to the app and the mobile phone’s Bluetooth connection to the child seat is lost. (This happens when the phone is taken about 5-20 meters away from the eBuckle by Holmbergs™.)

1. A notification is sent 15 seconds after the Bluetooth connection is lost.
2. An alarm sounds on the phone after 2 minutes if the initial notification is not disabled. The alarm will sound even if the phone is muted.
3. A text message with the vehicle’s GPS position will be sent to the emergency contacts saved in the app after 2 minutes if the alarm is not disabled.
The text message will be sent to all emergency contacts at the same time.

If the child is left buckled in the car, a person leaving the car (while being connected with the eBuckle by Holmbergs™), will receive a “child left alone alert” message on their phone. The alarm will only be sent to the phone leaving the car and not to any other phone connected to the child car seat.

The app always has to be “active in the background” to work. If a person “force quits” the app, the Bluetooth communication between the app and the child seat will cease and the alarm cannot be triggered.

eBuckle by Holmbergs™ makes a 3-beep sound when the buckle is opened. The 3-beep sound is also repeated one more time. This is a support to alert the caregiver that the buckle has been opened.

If you have the app, you can also have a notification in the app.
